Tiene 2 hermanos, Louis Mart\u00edn y John Joseph.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan datos recopilados por The College of Cardinals Report (<em>Informe del Colegio Cardenalicio, seg\u00fan su traducci\u00f3n al espa\u00f1ol<\/em>), Prevost es licenciado en Ciencias Matem\u00e1ticas por la Universidad de Villanova <em>(Pensilvania)<\/em> en 1977, tiene una Maestr\u00eda en Divinidad por la Uni\u00f3n Teol\u00f3gica Cat\u00f3lica de Chicago, y una licenciatura y un doctorado en Derecho Can\u00f3nico por el Pontificio Colegio de Santo Tom\u00e1s de Aquino en Roma.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vinasfm.com\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250508_142819.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-147963\" src=\"https:\/\/vinasfm.com\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250508_142819.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vinasfm.com\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250508_142819.jpg 764w, https:\/\/vinasfm.com\/noticias\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/20250508_142819-261x300.jpg 261w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lleg\u00f3 a Per\u00fa en una misi\u00f3n agustiniana en 1985, tan solo 3 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de ordenarse sacerdote y regres\u00f3 en 1988 para dirigir el Seminario Agustiniano de la ciudad norte\u00f1a de Trujillo durante 10 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p><strong>En 2014, el papa Francisco lo nombr\u00f3 obispo de Chiclayo, cargo que ocup\u00f3 hasta 2023<\/strong>.
